During Frieze Week, London hums with a unique, electric energy. Art is no longer confined to the pristine white walls of galleries. It weaves itself into the fabric of the city’s conversations and defines its after-dark scene. It is a time for discovery, for connection, and for unforgettable moments.

As many of our guests know, art and design are an integral part of the Aki DNA. It is a passion that informs the very essence of our space and our philosophy. So, for Frieze Week, we knew we had to create something that went beyond a simple party—an experience that truly celebrated the creative spirit of this iconic moment.

For one night only, on the 16th of October, we are transforming our subterranean cocktail bar, the Kyori Lounge, into an intimate stage for an unmissable encounter.

Yoshirotten, a visionary master of sound and light

We are honoured to welcome a true visionary from Tokyo to take over the space: the celebrated Japanese artist, Yoshirotten.

Even if the name is new to you, his influence is undeniable. As the founder of the creative studio YAR, he is the creative force behind collaborations with global icons like Hermès, McLaren, and Nike. He is a master of blending light, rhythm, and perception into a singular, mesmerising form.

For his evening at Aki, Yoshirotten will perform his acclaimed Visual Frequencies set. This is not a traditional DJ performance, but a sophisticated interplay of sound and vision, where sound becomes sculpture and light becomes emotion. It is a profound sensory experience designed to be felt, not just heard, and the perfect expression of Frieze Week’s innovative energy.

An immersive takeover of Kiyori, our cocktail bar

The setting for this unique performance is as important as the artist himself. The Kyori Lounge, our intimate cocktail bar housed in the historic bank vault of 1 Cavendish Square, provides the perfect canvas. Its low-lit, subterranean atmosphere creates a sense of stepping into another world, making it the ideal environment for this kind of immersive, sensory art. The evening will be a full takeover, a dialogue between the artist’s futuristic vision and the vault’s historic soul.

The taste of the occasion: a menu of modern Japanese food

The art of the evening extends, naturally, to the palate. Our chefs have created a menu of canapés and cocktails designed to be savoured throughout the night, each a reflection of the creativity in the room.

Guests will enjoy a curated selection of canapés, including delicate Tuna Tartare with smoked takuan and caviar, rich Wagyu Beef Maki with a beer mustard pickle, and inventive Boneless Chicken Wings stuffed with Botan Ebi. For the cocktails, our mixologists have selected three signature creations for the evening: the bright and complex Horo Nigari, the bold Fuji Single Malt-based Nakata, and the vibrant Matadooru. A selection of exquisite mocktails, including a Cherry Blossom Paloma, will also be served.
